I have my cdl A with X endorsements didn’t go to school got wheel time from a friend, have called around about refresher classes and there just crazy for the amount of money they want. So my question is I have no verified experience how can I get a driving job? Is there a company that will hire me and train me even though I already have my class A?

You can either go OTR with a company like swift, or do something local like drive a dump truck, trash truck/ roll off etc... I drive a dump and I love it and I was hired with no experience, just my CDL in my pocket.

IKE, you won't know until you SHOW UP IN PERSON and ask.
Always go in person, so they have to deny you to your face.
Look presentable, as if you were already hired, and just showing up for your first day on the job. They may see that your ready to work and decide to give you a shot.

you have no proven training. this will be tough, but not entirely impossible. if a company wants to hire you and train you, they will charge you, its that simple. if you are lucky to find a Class B job nearby, then take it. maybe from there they can move you into bigger trucks. but as it stands now, you are untouchable because you had no formal training.

dont let the experience deter you. a boss would much rather hire a motivated person that's willing to do the job right, and be an honest worker. showing up in person and pushing that is how you will get a local job over someone with experience. sell yourself on your good attributes, you're young, you wanna learn the ropes of the trucking industry, you have a good attitude (assuming you do lol). beat down the door until they tell you yes or no. if they say they will call you back in a few days, SHOW UP at the place. thats what i did to get this job i have now, granted i had experience but i know a lot of people applied for it and i go it, i just kept calling and showing up until finally they called and hired me.

How do you know you will be turned down until you go? Time is a relative matter when you are out of work.

Like Rerun said! The big companies won't take you unless you have gone to an accredited school. This is usually due to the insurance company. This is actually in your favor! Now you will have to find a job with a smaller company or owner operator. It is going to be a little tougher because they don't just let you show up like the mega-carriers. You will actually have to fill out an application and call them back everyday until you get an answer. Aim for the companies that aren't advertising as much. Good luck to you!
