I have a 16' wide possibly 53' long box as part of a job I'm estimating. Trying to figure out what the delivery situation is going to look like. Somebody with experience would be helpful to ask questions...

    TIA

I've got a location that can't be photographed, getting equipment that can't be talked about, and the suppliers are either delivering 1 large box or doing some site fabrication. I'm leaning toward pre-assembled based on the equipment being some pretty fancy, but if the delivery is a nightmare might not be the best solution. I don't see this being too awful- anybody see issues I'm missing?

I got nothing to add.....I just want to say it's nice to see ya back, and I'm glad to see you're working.

    Good luck!

How much space where you show backing up? What is the total overall length for the truck, trailer and the box?

box is not completely determined yet so we're going with what we believe to be worst case- 16' wide, 10' tall. 53' long. I'm not sure what that 53' means- if he's saying it fits on a 53' trailer, or if they are using some kind of fancy trailer setup with the rear steering stuff or ? Sometimes these guys aren't completely transparent with info because they haven't really got the job yet... we haven't got the job and they might even be low bid so....
anyway this particular equipment would be coming from around Saxonburg PA
when it gets to the site, at the end of the asphalt behind the building there's 65' long, 51' wide area to back around a concrete generator enclosure, 25' between a bollard at the corner of enclosure and another at the corner of an existing structure. Once you get between the bollards there's a little more swing room - it actually opens up to about 32', and the 5' of pull up room. It's going back about 75'-90' feet to it's final location, that's not pinned down yet. Partly depends on how we're going to unload this 50 ton monster...

the piece is 50 tons ie 100,000 lbs?

the crate is 53’ long 10’ tall and 16’ wide?

if that is the case it is definitely coming in on an exotic trailer. It will be a stretch 11/12/13 axle likely steerable of it will come in on a famonvile stretch step with 9 axles that steer (hope for this one). The multiaxle stretch will be over 150’ in length - see picture this was 15 wide 16 tall and 54’ in the well and weighed 93000 net and 197000 gross. Yes that was me.

there are other alternatives- trans loading to spmt (goldhofer type trailer)

you need a lot more details in order to plan this - like how much room the crane needs to setup - all that kind of stuff.

Last thought a MULTIAXLE stretch step deck set up could also do the job if the box is 10’ and be maybe 120’ shorter but not steerable.
