Pretty single minded response if you ask me.
Everybody’s situation is different and we should not judge. The OP obviously wants to experience different parts of the country, you apparently don’t and only want the paycheck.....doesn’t mean you are right or wrong. We are all different, it’s what makes the world go around and quite honestly keeps it interestingly.
Have not yet gotten a cross country load

You got your year in. Ask Chinatown for company recommendations that give you longer hauls.
I hear Freymiller gives long hauls a lot. IWX forum people posting 3000 mile weeks. I bet they get around.
FFE isn't afraid to send you across country. I was in NY this week. Scheduled to Ontario CA this weekend, then over to Vegas and then back to Dallas.
Those companies are out there. If that's what you want you should be able to get it. -
I used to say the same thing til i found myself driving through Moab and SLC. When youre not from there its really some awe inspiring stuff i tell ya...rachi, Brettj3876, nikmirbre and 5 others Thank this.

The stretch between Monticello, Moab, and I-70 is a favorite. Definitely the best desert scenery in the country that I know of.Northern Nomad, 650cat425, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this.

I only run in the 11 western states and hate going back east. The scenery is much nicer, the roads are flat with high speed limits, and you can put a lot of miles in per day. Driving out west doesn't always mean you'll be going to LA. I never go there by choice, and yes LA sucks.

If you can at all possible. See the Grand Canyon. You’ll never forget it. Just the first glance takes about an hour to swallow.
You’ll need a little free time. Drop trailer at truck stop on i40. Bobtail in. About 45 miles. Don’t take the trailer in. You’ll get in trouble.
Just need to see it. That’s all. What’s most important. I’m glad I did.kemosabi49, Lonesome and SteveScott Thank this. -
One, I'm surprised they let a bobtail truck in. Two, I would think most companies would frown on it, especially the dropping the trailer part. A better way to do it would be to take a few days off in Flagstaff and rent a car. If you're a company driver, you might need to find a secure lot to do this.
I happen to think the Grand Canyon is more spectacular after a snowfall. Ditto for Zion and the highway between Zion, Kanab, and Page which can all be easily done in a day or two from Flagstaff or Cedar City.Last edited: Jan 1, 2021

I was just trying to give a little perspective. A lot of guys hear cross country and think money, but it's not always the case. Money is top priority for a lot of us working stiffs out here and dispatch was probably focusing on the best loads for the way OP has run in the past.Badmon Thanks this.
