Don't know. I learned about it from a google search that took me to a thread on a Union message board. Below are a couple of gems from it:

Ironworkers are like that. They don't like scabs (which is anyone not in a union), mexicans, any other union, or each other. That'd actually be pretty funny to watch a bunch of plant workers try to mess with ironworkers.

yep, thats true. the ironworkers in buffalo have NO problem at all using non union trucking companies, i know that much.

well, what goes around, comes around. I'm sure all the other unions are remembering the Teamsters on the East Coast not honoring a IFCW strike a few years ago, and its biting them in the ###.

That, along with the fact that JR pretends the Teamsters aren't the truck drivers union. much too easy to sign up city and state workers, and let whatever trucking companies remain on the dues list to either take concessions, go out of business, or get scabbed out, while they are busy "organizing for power" with 10 dollar an hour bus drivers, firefighters who already have a BETTER union to represent them, or cops who also have multiple unions that better understand their specific situation.

Or maybe the union has finally taken that bridge too far as seen from the company's perspective. Might behoove them to look for another job. If they can find one approved by their union, that is. That company does not owe them jobs. They offer jobs to them with certain restrictions on both sides. If the union can't handle that, tough.

I go back to a previous point: the Teamsters are very heavily Democratic and helped get this guy elected, along with a s***load of his Commie buddies. They passed a health care law and signed it to the cheers of the Teamsters. Now the company cannot and, in my opinion, should not, pay the additional cost added to the insurance as a direct result of said law. Seems to me the chickens have come home to roost, to paraphrase another Leftist Commie.

Sitting in the plant now. Lots of security at the gate. No problems and it looks like I will get loaded in about 45 minutes less time than normal.

I'm thinking it humourous how the hero's in Washington get free health care, and yet the Unions get bashed for wanting the same? And that's been going on regardless who was the controlling party. Just my .02.
More smoke and mirrors that the average guy falls for everytime.:biggrin_25524:

Sometimes it's nice to be sitting on the outside looking in, I think I'll stay there.:biggrin_25525:

Those "heros" in DC do not get "free" health care. You and I pay for it. Someone has to pay for the unions also...so who will it be? I'm about tapped out.

We sure do pay for it!! In more ways than one. But to them it's still free.

Who will pay for the unions? Same people that pay for the DC hero's. Us!!:biggrin_2557:

If you have never been in a union, quit throwing stones. you do not understand what they are all about. Compare the company to a bank.....and lets say your parents have 250,000.00 in a savings acct that pays them back .75% of what it took them all there kife to earn. Then you need a loan from that same bank, and they charge you 10 % because you are a trucker, and a risk of who's money? thats right your mom and dads. but they are making 9.25% on mom's money, and charging u 10% so in reality they are making 19% or better, and money will double with this formula at 10%, every 7,2 yrs....so the banks are just like the corportations...screw the little people, and take care of themselves..... Go TEAMSTERS
