i'm curious as to what the collectors could do. if it didn't get paid.
they can't place a collections on your credit without your social.
does the citation get tied to your social security number. or would they have to investigate you and your business to find that information?????

Nm. i see someone posted a lein against your business and vehicle.

KS got rid of their rolling property tax in either 2013 or 2014 based on stated equipment values. Do not remember now if they upped their diesel fuel tax or not, but thinking they were going to do that along with raise base plates to offset the funds.

Not all old trucks are illegal. Sure some are, but some are still running on the last of the small fleet exemptions, some are CA based and are allowed to have a certain percentage of older trucks in their fleet, and there are also ag exemptions.

Cool, I did not know that most likely because I did not care one way or the other. Only paid it once in 2010, after that never again. That would explain why I quit getting the nasty letters.

Any Carb police or inspections lately? Where did you see CARB this year? What areas we need to avoid so dont get caught?

I dont particularly care about the CARB. The Regulators have made emissions requirements so badly that we are burning up equipment and money to comply. Its my thinking they are trying to enforce a defacto shadowban of fossile fuel engine across the board.

In Arkansas we are still a free state, no emissions or mufflers etc required. No inspections either. California does not get to wag the national dog the way they have been.

What about the in state californian employee driving a truck that is to old and non compliant. Will the employee be responsible for the fines or the owners?

As much as I hate the problems that have been caused ever since they first started smog controls, they have done a lot of good. I remember coming over the Grapvine or Cajon and seeing nothing but a brown fog. You could be at the 76 in Ontario and not be able to see the mountain at times. And we were breathing that brown air, of course.
One of the big problems the trucking industry has had is the way they are forcing the new standards on the engine manufacturers before the technology is there to comply with them. And just when things seem to be getting lined out, here comes another round.
