Back in December of '08 I dropped a load of pipe off in Bakersfield.....Headed back S/B and it started snowing at Tejon.....CHP stopped the N/B side and basically traffic was stopped from Tejon back to Castaic.....CARB and the CHP were citing drivers for idling.....I know this because of the chatter on the CB...Drivers were pissed because the N/B side of the 5 wasn't going to reopen to well after the next morning....Yet....4 Wheelers and Motor Home drivers could idle to their hearts content and enjoy the heated comfort.....

I bet if you had a cat or dog that would let you idle otherwise it would be animal cruelty.

I had this happen once at the Love's on 99. Someone on the radio was saying CARB was on the lot. Funny thing though, I was parked on the street and never saw anything but trucks going in & coming out, all while I was idling for A/C.

My friend works the scale at the entry , i believe rt 80 and he has told me they will call chp or even them and they will not do nothing for carb because most chp and dot cops do not like carb police. Like i said he could be wrong but i doubt he is lying to me. Just because they have a gun and a badge does not mean they have the legal right to stop you.

Again, all these post and not one truck driver can come forward and say yes I have been given a ticket for a non-compliant ENGINE.

Lots on talk about CB chatter though.

Thanks for this, I had started a tread today " older trucks still going in & out of CA ? " nobody is stopping them or shutting them down, seems to me it's its clean truck doesn't smoke nobody is going stop you. Stop the scare tactics until they start actually have stateline check denying entry to non compliant trucks, then CA will really start hurting, lets hope they run out of borrowed money soon so they cannot go forward with any enforcement.

Guntoter, Cetane+ and russellkanning Thank this.

Drayage trucking company pays $300,000 fine to CARB
A trucking company that regularly hauls freight to and from ports will pay the California Air Resources Board $300,000 for violating a state emissions rule.
