I've been driving for over 13 years and have never been tipped. I've helped unload trailers, sat for hours, been totally disrepected from recievers, but never tipped. Has anyone been tipped before?
Have you ever been tipped???

Back in 1996, I took a load of engine air filters out to the far end of Long Island NY. I delivered the entire load to a guys house! We offloaded on the street using a chain and forklift. All I did was hook the chain on the pallets so he could drag them to the tailgate. When we finished, he told me he had a "contract" to supply the air filters to the NYC bus system. He ran the operation from a garage in his back yard. He then stated, "it must cost alot to get across all those toll bridges to reach Long Island". (I think it was $20-25 back then). I agreed that it wasn't cheap and he held out his hand for a handshake. As we shook hands, I could feel he had something In his hand. He said, "go buy yourself a steak dinner". I took the paper, thanked him, and out of courtesy, I waited till I got back in my truck to see what he'd given me. I pulled the paper out of my pocket and there was a crisp $100 bill! Not only that, he signed my bills driver unload so I got another $150. Great day!

I got tipped a couple of times when I hauled cars.

I got tipped multiple times a day when I ran local paper product delivery. Stocking the products on the storage shelves at restaurants was not part of our service, but only took two extra minutes to do as I brought it in off the hand truck. I did it for customers who tipped for it.
Sometimes the tip was free food, which was ok too lol. -
I used to be a bicycle courier delivering packages for Boston Bike. I got tipped all the time, almost every time. Now that I drive, and many times have to shower at a truckstop, most of the time I tip the folks who clean the showers. I guess it depends on the shower, which isn't very fair, but...
I'd be interested in seeing how many folks tip the shower cleaners.. -

Id say, i had my fair share of getting tipped , i remember one day i was unloaded a whole load of laundry soap. all kinds, so when i got done, i was thinking i need a shower , it was super hot out and even hotter in that trl, and since they were a guy short for the day, i said sure i help you, so we got done, noticed a broken pallet by the door, can i have one of those, it was a broken jug of tide, nope, i just said okay, walk out too the truck, finish up my paper work, bangen on my door, here he was with a super giant size brand new jug of tide , brand new, non broken, , this for helping us out today, all i wanted was that small one, but he said he didnt wanted too leak all over my truck, so thank him and went and did my laundry and took my shower.

I just remembered that I was one of 5 trucks that carried a new score board to Stanford football stadium in Palo Alto, California. The salesman who sold the sign took us to a very nice nearby restaurant and bought us lunch, due to the length of time it took to unload us. The sign had to be unloaded in a certain sequence. I think the first guy missed the lunch. That was nice. It was a very nice restaurant and we were very much under dressed. I doubt they saw a lot of truck drivers at that restaurant.
