A bad day in Birmingham is better than a good day in Atlanta.

I believe they have something in Birmingham affectionately referred to as “Malfunction Junction”.

When is that interstate construction going to be finished in Birmingham? Or is it a never ending process?

The people in Atlantas city council that make these ordinances are stingy. They love to take but hate to give. Anything that can make them an extra buck. Just turn down freight that takes you through Atlanta.

Columbus Ohio loop tends to run well even in rush hour assuming no one wrecks.

I planned that trip perfectly. I had a 35 mile drive from Lithonia, east of Atlanta, to the Austell rail yard which is just west of Atlanta. If I was to go straight through I-20 there I coulkd make it with only 45 minutes on my clock. Now I could have stayed at the shipper there and taken my ten hour break or I could go for it and make an extra $55 that day. Going around on the loop would have slowed me down too much because it is a lot longer and on top of that there was stop and go traffic there even late at night.

In the back of my mind I was telling myself that if I was stopped I would just say I was on my way to the rail yard on Marrieta there inside Atlanta.

I do linehaul LTL and have been down 75 at least 100 times and 20/85 various other times and never been stopped. I’m in a day cab and primarily run nights so that may help.

Why? It’s not that hard going around on the 285
Y’all are acting like they’re making you do a 1000 mile detour.
