Some places still use the caboose, usually just local runs. We use them here, it's easier to ride in a caboose than it is to ride on the ladder while the train is moving in reverse. After riding the ladder for a mile or so on a cold winter day the job starts loosing some of its appeal. The thirty year guys will never give up that caboose. ( willingly )
