Hows it goin, i'm heading to Schneider in salt lake on Monday. I was on the road for a little over a year but haven't driven in 3 years, I'm pretty nervous about this with the road test and all because the recruiter said she is putting me in the 3 day orientation and sending me on my way which is fine but the road test is messing with me, i have a feeling they are expecting flawlessness with the road test and i'm expecting to drive like someone that hasn't driven in 3 years lol..what do you guys think? Will they be cool with me or am i going into a sticky situation. Thanks guys

Don't know about Schneider, but most of the mega carriers' road tests are pretty simple. Don't hit any curbs and hopefully you remember how to shift.

    Use every basic safety function

As far as shifting ... if you show them you understand the concept, you'll b fine...

Every truck drives different and takes some getting used to.

Just be as cool as you can, USE your mirrors, and SAFE. They know it's been awhile , being rusty's ok. Thier looking for the diamond in the rough not one all polished up. You will get the roadtest done up front sometime on the first day ( you may get a little parking lot practice) when you pass they will probobly send you out with a trainer for a couple days or longer if you need the help.
Relax, it will all come back (except the shifting! your gonna grind em :) )

Hey Greesywheel, you didn't have to do a refresher course before going to Schneider?
