I am interested in having my own grain/hay hauling business sometime in the future I know this will be ways down the road but I might as well get thoughts on this now. I got some questons

How big are grain/hay haulers ?

What hopper brand and flat trailers are best ?

What truck is best sleeper or daycab and which is strong enough ( Iknow those bales get very heavey when wet )

I did some math and I came up around 3 hundred thousand on truck and grain hopper and flat trailer

Go out and buy a new calculator because your math is way off. Best place to start your business adventure is with some experience.

I'll sell ya my whole operation, turn-key for $300,000, no a bargain at $275,000! :biggrin_255: I'll even include all my customers and contacts.

Seriously, you need to do a lot more research, get to know the search function on this forum, it will be your friend. I'd get some experience driving someone else's truck to learn the ropes, this is not an easy business to learn and succeed at on your own.

Best bet is to get your butt to write a business plan. That is if you want to succeed. No bank will touch you without one asking for that amount. Heck they probably won't touch you at this age for half that. You never know though. Make a good enough plan and get someone to handle all the financials. You could be set. Never know until you try.

    Good luck. :biggrin_25519:

Have $20,000.00 in the bank and a retirement account of $15,000 and maybe the bank will look at your business plan.
