I Have no explanation at all - I can't blame Cali since I'm from NY and was raised in Pa..haha..

I would blame the Pa school system but I went to Catholic schools..

I got it - everyone will be calling them moteorcycles in a few years - they just don't know it yet.. I'm ahead of the curve carving out trends..haha..

    I'm gonna stick with that..

You just misspelled it. It's supposed to be meteorcycle and man are those things fast.

Be careful up there when the snow starts flying. I ran Newburgh, NY a lot last year and that just plain sucks in the winter. If you can reach the Jersey hubs from where you are it's alright once you get close but I know you have to run through to get there.

yea, i hear it sucks in winter, and i'll most likely be doing Newburgh (out of 4 re-ships, half of our LH guys go to Newburgh)... everyone tells me to find a decent stretch of road and test the brakes just to get a feel for them, before you hit the highway and it really counts... im not looking forward to it even if im in the city by then, but i'll deal with that when the time comes

They gave you real good advice. Not sure how big your yard is, but I always build up a little speed and hit the brakes to see what locks first when the yard is covered on a snotty night. If it's your dolly, be careful with the brake pressure on the road.

Couple of things I've figured out pulling sets in the winter.

You want a lead about twice as heavy as your kite if possible - 14 and 7, 20 and 10 etc.

Two heavy trailers are OK on flats and brake decently but if you have any steep pulls you'll get stuck with an 18 and a 17. I've been stuck on the road no less than a dozen times.

Empties suck - grab a dunnage trailer for a lead if you can.

A snow covered left lane can have better traction than a mostly clear right lane when it gets below 20 degrees at night. The clear lane gets powder on it that is melted by the tires running over it, it flash freezes, and you have black ice. The snow covered left lane is just snow which has more traction and is predictable. I'm sure you've noticed the wheel spin light on the Sterlings - I've had that thing going nuts in the right lane, moved to the left and floored it without breaking traction.

Take your time. You get there when you get there in one piece.

Good advice Jake about the left snow covered lane versus the clean right lane with black ice. Snow for traction is something I learned early on even in a 4 wheeler.

No doubt man. I always monitor 19 on bad roads and get a kick out of the comments relating to doubles running the left lane on snow. I hate to kick up all that snow while I'm passing but I'm on firm footing while they're skating on a sheet of ice.
