hazmat/ tanker endorsment ???

I got DBL/Tanker/Hazmat and whats on my Lic is: XT. That's what is put on the Florida Lic. However I did have to wait 4wks + for the hazmat bakground letter. Saying I was approved for reciving me CDL. Odd but it is what it is.

It does suck having to wait for it to be mailed. What if you are an OTR driver and aren't home but every six weeks or so? The temp they give you is only good for 30 days. Not able to make it home to check the mail and you are SOL.

 

Is it best to get my Hazmat on my own or go to a truck driving school?

 

You don't get hazmat through a school. You do the fingerprints, take a written test, pay the fees, get the endorsement on your license.

 

I also have my T/X here in MO, I don't see why you can't just get it changed over IMO the person at the DMV made the mess up

 

Do you need your background check to come back wore you get the tanker an hazmat endorsement on your lic? I just started with a oil company and did my background last week and will be taking my haz and tanker test tomorrow... I've been allowed to ride and work the truck but not drive... I'm guessing you do but do you get ppwk stating your completed the tests if that's the case where I have to wait?
