I'm curious about this. What misdemeanors will result in a prison sentence? When we say prison we usually think of a state or federal institution.
Do you know what states that could happen in?

Actually I helped a guy get a job that had just got out of the federal half way house in Newport News. He was charged with a misdemeanor I think he did 8 months in a federal prison and 3 or 4 in that half way house. It was a bit complicated and was the result of a plea bargain. I don't remember the exact charge but it was one of the securities fraud charges.

Edited: I would also add that when you are in court charged with more then one misdemeanor don't peeve the Judge off. I remember way back in the 80s a local judge in my hometown sentenced a guy charged with 3 such charges to the full 12 months and run that sucker consecutive. This meant 36 months in prison. I think the state later changed this sentence. However not every prisoner in the US/State syetem is there because of a felony. This is something anybody can check out. Ask an attorney!

I am convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, convicted 2010 released 2018. What are my chances of acquiring a hazmat endorsement? Not looking for opinions, looking for someone who can tell me they were granted or denied. Thanks

Based on the TSA website your offense is considered an interim disqualifying offense. If I am reading this correctly you are still within the 5 years of release and disqualified. You will be until some point in 2023.

    INTERIM DISQUALIFYING INCARCERATION OFFENSES

Conviction for one of the following felonies is disqualifying if the applicant was convicted, pled guilty (including ‘no contest’), or found not guilty by reason of insanity within seven years of the date of the application; OR if the applicant was released from incarceration after conviction within five years of the date of the application.
