doesent restrict trucks just Haz material carriers

I know my home state, Colorado, has a hazmat routing map to go along with your permit. It's not just the towns that have restrictions, it's the whole state.

Always just put your Hazmat BOL in the door pocket and put the orange hazmat book with it. This will put both items in view of the DOT when they/you open the door on an inspection. Always let them see you with your seatbelt on too before you do anything else. Just a few tips that came to mind.

Plus as a driver you need to know the rules to double check your dispatch. A couple of times I have had my dispatch tell me no placards required, when in fact, they were needed. If I didn't know the rules I wouldn't have caught it.
-
If you are not required to have placards or in other words, if the hazmat you are carrying does not meet the reportable quantity then you are not considered hazmat. Go wherever the wind blows you driver.

I drive from Scranton PA to Indy IN every day (one day down and one back ) and some times that 270 is a nightmare, I don't usually have enough Hazmat to be plackered but if I have a couple pounds on my BOL. I never would use 670 as I want to keep it legal. The way the sign is worded it is not clear as to whats allowed.
-
When it says no hazmat route like we have in minneapolis thru the lowry hill tunnel it means any hazmat is not permitted even 1 pound granted if your not placered you wont draw attention but if you got pulled over they would check your bol
-
If you are not placarded then you can run thru Columbus, in fact it is the easyer route if your staying on 70, much faster than the bypass. even in rush hour.
