At least I get to see Bama roll on those Bayou Tigers before I go. I can not wait to get there and begin this new challenge. Definately going to be a different experience, I've never even owned a manual transmission vehicle before, but I intend to be dedicated work as often on the sim or pad as they will allow me to.

Good luck to you. Take it seriously... study and practice as much as possible. That's what you're there for. You'll be glad you did!

When I was first learning to drive a truck I was horrible at it. Couldn't find a gear no matter what. Screwed up every back, just couldn't get the feel for it. I got really discouraged and such. All of a sudden one day it just all clicked. So just practice and keep your head up, and in know time you'll have it down.

Truck driving on general is just practice e. One day everything will just click. Shifting, backing, driving and so on. Good luck. I might be here still if you got any questions.

Do not get upset every time you make a mistake as they will happen quite frequently. Study hard as others have said and have fun.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. I am really looking foward to it, I think it will be an incredibly rewarding career change. I've seen some mixed thoughts about it but I think I am going to be a company driver in the reefer division. If so Im sure youve probably typed the same thing dozens, if not hundreds of times, but are there any company reefer drivers on this board, how is it? Until next time.....

I am a company driver on the reefer side. I get plenty of miles, and taken care of pretty well. My only complaint is night and weekend road assist.
