You can get in touch with Haliburton, Key, BJ Services, and a bunch of others on line while over there. The business around DFW is supposed too last about 10 or more years. Out in W TX they are having a boom as well. Lots of older wells are producing now that it is worth while with outrageous prices. Wyoming is booming and have heard CO is producing as well. About any where there is oil or gas someone is drilling or servicing wells. At $100 per barrel they are all worth pumping.

Iraqvet,You might not need to run down to Texas.Right next door to Ohio is PA.You might say I am I nuts.I proably am.The steel and coal industry is pretty much gone but there is something new on the horizon.Natural gas.It seems that by industry standards there are huge deposits of gas under what they call Marcelles shale(spelling?)These deposits encompass much of western PA and southern NY.The problem is ,in the past no company until recently had the technology to drill down 8,000 feet.My father has property out there and has already started lease agreements with a major gas company. It might be a couple of years before every thing gets going but its worth keeping an eye on.Their equipment has to move by truck and their product has to move by truck.Could be some good jobs coming.

I drove for KBR in Iraq for 3 years. I knew alot of the recovery drivers. You already know what you are getting into going to Iraq. The Recovery drivers also go and get the battle damaged vehicles. I also know that the recovery drivers sometimes have the toughest civilian job there.
I know this isnt really much help for yuor question about oilfield work in Texas. I tried to get a job with KBR in Houston, my previous experience was no help at all. But GOOD LUCK. -
Yeah,I will keep on eye on the natural gas over there..Thaks for the heads up..Crashiniraq,this will definetly be an expirience if I can pull it off..My reserve unit did nothing but convoys,so it will be weird to go outside the wire and show up to a vehicle and recover it..We were always movin,so it will be weird to be a sitting target, without an m-16..I am gonna miss havin one if these guys end up hiring me..Thank god for k bar lol..No m-16,but atleast it will be somthin...
