I still need to work on my backing. This split axel trailer is so much different than what I drove in cdl school. They say it takes everyone some time to get used to it.
I have a good trainer with over 20 years of experience pulling many differnent loads and equipment.
The minimum is 21 days and there is no maximum as long as you are making progress.
The training on securements and tarping was excellent during my extended training after orientation.
I think I have actually lost weight since I started. I was not used to this much lifting for the past 6 months.
But I am enjoying it!notarps4me, MtDewMan, JustSonny and 1 other person Thank this. -

I logged 535 miles today in 8.5 hours of driving. After we dropped off the firebrick we immediately got a pick up 100+ miles away up by Kansas City. It is a load of decorative stones going to Lowes in Hot Springs Ark. We made it to Joplin Missouri before our 14 ran out. Started in the dark and ended in the dark. I do not mind saying that I would rather drive in the day.
I ate in the truck stop and had chineese. It was ok. I was looking at inverters and this guy starts talking to me. I did not mind, but he had not bathed in quite a while.
He talked a mile a minuted and would not let me get a word in edgewise. I guess he just needed to have somone listen! I was happy to oblige!
Well, that is it for now. -
I am sitting here in hot springs waiting for our next load assignment.
Drove down us rt 270 through the mountains. It was a beautiful but tense drive as it is two lane with a lot of turns in all directions. It was fun though! -
Well the next load was a load of lumber that we had to pick up in Arkansas. I am glad because I wanted to learn what it was like to secure and tarp.
This load made the truck feel kind of loose.
We are on our way to Illinois. We stopped in at Little Rock for the night. Got a shower and some food.
We will be up at 4:00 and on the road by 5.
The driving was intense today on all the winding two lane roads through the hills.
Tomorrow will be all interstate driving! -
