So your net is actually .12 more than what you showed, since that is your money. I have been very interested in all of the L/P out there.
Just trying to look at the pros and cons of all of them.

    Thanks for your info!

You're welcome. In my 16yrs driving this has been the best program Ive run across. If I was just making company driver wages I wouldnt do it because there would be no benefit to the risk.

I unloaded in Newberry, NC and they bounced me to West Fraser in Newberry, SC to get a load of lumber going to Holiday City, OH. They first sent me a load picking up in Columbia, SC going to Severstal in Columbus, MS. I had already started down the road towards Columbia when I got a message that came across the dashboard that said, "load assignment cha". I went ahead and pulled over on the side of the road because I knew what it meant. It didn't take them long to change it though. Wonder why they changed it?

Well I could hope they were saving it for me since Im delivering there Wednesday. In reality the customer probably either canceled the load or refused to sign Mavericks load contract that every customer must sign unless they already have a signed longterm committment to Maverick. Ive had that happen a couple times. Get told to start heading to the customer and gets cancelled due to customer refusing something in the contract. Which usually means theyre cheap b##tards!

    larry5853 and ramloghauler Thank this.

..let's not forget the FICA tax that you have to pay, company driver pays 1/2, O/O & L/Ps pay 100% if I'm not mistaken, you have to consider that expense from your net income your not clearing..

    larry5853 and JimTheHut Thank this.

    Thanks Dan,
That was the first time it has happened to me. I was wondering all day why they would cancel it. I have picked up in Severstal before, but never delivered there.

    Dan,

    Yep, I'm a RAT(Regional ATlantic).

It's funny, I am also considered a RAT because of the bike I ride. I ride a Triumph and the owners group is called "Riders Association of Triumph" .Kinda funny how those worked out.

Got a load out of Frederick MD to Chicago. Let's see....US Steel in Gary, Tin Mill in Gary, US Steel out of Portage, Port of Indiana(Feralloy), Burns Harbor or the mill in East Chicago IN. Probably covers most of what to expect..possibly Sterling IL but probably not.....

I don't know if any of you saw the damage from the tornado in Glade Spring VA at exit 29.

That is my home town. My parents live about 2 miles from the Petro truck stop. Luckily for me all of my family is fine. My Brother lives about 20 miles south and my Sister lives about 20 miles north. I live in Bristol now.

If any of you have family affected or were affected yourself by the Tornadoes and severe weather my prayers are with you. I know several Maverick drivers who park their trucks at the Petro on the weekends and I hope they are ok.

Glade is a very small community and I don't ever remember destruction on this scale. i haven't been home yet but I am heading that way tomorrow. I don't know if I could bring myself to even go see it.

I talked to my wife, who works in Bristol and was on her way home at 10:45 Wednsday night. She told me it started to hail and the wind was really getting bad. She went into the den and got the dogs and stayed there for the night. The power went out and she was unable to charge her phone. I was freaking out this morning thinking the worst. I came through Knoxville and told my FM that if I got through K-town and hadn't heard from her I was going home. Luckily she thought to charge her phone in her car and called. Man, what a relief.

    Be careful out there guys.

    Dave

PS maybe still freaking out a little....
