My husband is a nonsmoker and paired with a smoking trainer. The first time they were back to the NLR terminal, I picked up hubby and helped him get some of his stuff out of the truck and did not pick up even a tiny whiff of smoke in the cab so I guess the trainer only smoked outside of the truck. I am a smoker (only smoke outside of the house we live in and outside of the vehicles we drive - my car's windows are tough to get back up if I lower them so, since I do not want the car to become a gas chamber, I refuse to smoke in it) so my husband is used to having someone around him who smokes.

My rule, you smoke?. . .crack the window. truck's stopped?. . .you smoke outside.Click to expand...Click to expand...

sewerman said: ↑Gentlemen please, I have known jim for a long time. All information that he posts is exactly what he was told from maverick. Dan what you said about the trucks is true it's not just the year but mileage and maintenance. jim just posted what he was told and yes he is still on paper logs and there are still more good drivers that are on paper logs. And Jim I think it started with yes and no I don't think anyone was calling anyone a liar. Both of you gentlemen are good sources of information for drivers on this board. Like the old saying goes sometimes a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. My favorite saying is I am correct 98% of the time and wrong 2% it's up to you to figure out what that 2% is. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Let's get back to being professional flatbed drivers and not be acting like a bunch of sissy doors swingers. Just my two cents.Click to expand...MtDewMan Thanks this.

Well, I am just waiting to hear back from my recruiter. So far so good. Hoping to start with Maverick the first of November. This thread has been so helpful. Sewerman, Sarge, Jim the Hut, Flatbedder 1966, a BIG thanks to all of you. You really helped make my decision. I hope to meet each of you sometime. Its also nice to know there are Christian brothers out there. Anyway, everyone be safe. God bless

Not intending to stir things back up...just thought I'd throw it out there that my FM is trying to get me through a Maverick shop to get a new QualComm. Mine keeps freezing up (its one of the 1st model OmniVisions...a real POS)
The QualComm I have is E-log capable, but its not activated...the new QualComm will be the same (capable, not activated) until they can get me though Little Rock to take the E-log class.
All that said...it may still be a several months before I get E-logs because its no easy task to get us MSO drivers to a Maverick shop. Gary is usually where we end up when we do see a Maverick yard (and thats likely where I'll get my new QC installed)...but getting to Little Rock may take a while. -
