I just have to say that this whole adventure has been fascinating. I did alot of research on this site and listened to several who were saying that new people could not make it in this industry at this time. I had faith in myself and my God...and I knew that I would be able to overcome whatever obstacles got in my way. I was not going to give up if things did not work out at Maverick. I have also kept in touch with others from Prime, Stevens and Werner who started at about the same time. They all are doing well and also have a very positive attitude.
To be successful in anything, you have to make up your mind that no matter what comes your way, you are going to make it through. In the Teams, the saying was, "The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday!
While this in no way compares to being a Navy SEAL, I will say that it was a challenge and every driver out there has earned my respect!
God Bless!

Jim,
Best of luck to you and welcome to Maverick. The road ahead will be full of good days, bad days, and some just plain weird ones. Life's an adventure, then there's trucking!!! You have my number, if you see me out I am known as "Crash" on the radio. The handle is a story all to itself.

Thanks Dave! I am looking forward to meeting you! -
Good luck out there Jim. My hubby has been on his truck at Mav for 3 weeks now and loves it. He was at USX for a year and a half and what a difference! He feels so much happier and respected. He got a little frustrated with tarping at first but it's getting easier. I think the best part is getting to come home more often (he was out 3-5 weeks at a time with USX). Sometimes the week flies by and you're home before you know it! Last weekend was pretty much only a restart but this time has been since Friday afternoon (he leaves this evening- Sunday). He feels like he has a life again!

Glad to hear he is enjoying it. Those lumber tarps can kick your butt! lol -
Glad to hear things are going smooth Jim. Your posts have been refreshing... compared to alot of what you CAN read here. I have 9 yrs Army and have been a Firefighter for years and I know attitude means everything. In some situations its all you can rely on... and if its bad you are in trouble lol Some people never learn that and its kind of sad, but usually if you think you will... you will, and if you think you wont...well guess what lol you prob wont.
But enough of that, enjoy hope you have your inverter by now lol And hope you get some time with your wife soon.
Godspeed -
