Perhaps he was TOLD to do so but the important thing is, he got home safely, Maverick kept their promise, and he has a couple days to work in his secret underground "seals for Christ" wooden nickel factory or did he move that across the border to spite sewerman?

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

This thread started by Jim has helped a lot of drivers. Hopefully we can keep it going and Jim will post from time to time to let us know how he's doing. Although I'm not a flat bedder (I'm in Sand) I still kept up with it.

I'm off on disability right now because of knee surgery yesterday. The meniscus on both sides of my right knee is torn and the doctor performed a micro-fracture of my right femur (thigh bone) to promote cartilage growth. I'm not on W/C because although work contributed to it, it wasn't the underlying cause. Also, because I am less than 5 yrs out from having a Pacemaker implanted, I'm not able to draw disability pay. That means not getting a paycheck for the next several weeks but I still have to pay my insurance premiums. I guess I'll be getting into my IRA big time.

Right now I'm using a walker and crutches to get around. I start Physical Therapy Monday. Sand drivers do a lot of climbing on trailers to open and close hatches and squatting to open and close product valves so there is a whole bunch of twisting of the knees. This all really sucks right now because the Sand Division just started a huge well that should pay a really big well bonus. Hopefully I'll recover quickly and be back to work in a few weeks.

I have no clue what you guys are talking about!:biggrin_2556::biggrin_25513::biggrin_25524::biggrin_25526::biggrin_25526::biggrin_25525:
My transmission went out on my 2007 down Near Laurinburg and they gave me a brand new 2012 truck #12233 with only 296 miles on it.
They promised me that when it broke down they would give me a new one and that is exactly what they did!:biggrin_25520:
I made it home safely over the mountains with my first run with the new truck. All the stories I have heard about them having problems had me a bit concerned, but had no issues with it at all.
I will give a detailed assessment of the new truck vs the old truck.

Just spent about 4 hours getting it all set up the way I want it.
It sure is a nice truck!
I am even more on top of the world!:biggrin_255:

Because by the wording in your post, it looked as though you had quit. Now you've explained it better.

My doctor just called to check on me. He said that I'd only be on crutches 3 or 4 days. I mentioned the abilities test at Maverick and how much kneeling, squatting and climbing I do in my job and he said that I should be ready to return to work in about 3 weeks.:smt023

Thank you for the advice Sarge. I was sitting in the break room reading the week 3 flatbed schedule off the television, thus my saying that I believe thats what the week consited of. I talked to Curt about it and got that straightened out with him as well the other day. Yesterday I reported back to the break room to get an update on my trainer status and Ed overheard where I lived and where my trainer was and arranged for me to meet him up here in Michigan rather than wait for him to get routed back to Little Rock so I was on the Greyhound from 1630 yesterday up until 1130 this morning.... back at home for the day and joining up with him tomorrow afternoon. As far as what I should do before getting in the trainers truck, the answer to both questions is yes- i got my cdl and joined maverick because I wanted to, not because I had to or was forced to out of necessity.
Jim- that was quite the scare! :biggrin_25523: Hope you enjoy your new wheels

It was probably because for the previous two nights I was up until after midnight....those are not the hours that I like to run....so I may have had some sleep debt to blame for it!

Oooh, That explains a lot Jim. Dang man, don't do that. I think we all thought you had just given up out of the blue and turned in your truck and quit. Glad to hear that wasn't the case.
