Spent the first night in the truck. I am glad I had my sleeping bag, because it was a bit nippy. I was plenty warm though. Started it up an hour before I got up and it was nice and toasty.
Just waiting until 8 to take a car down to the post office and get that inverter.
There are a couple of things on the truck that need to be looked at, but overall I am very pleased with the truck and trailer.
    Later!

    JustSonny and MtDewMan Thank this.

Well everything on the truck is ready to go. I have to check in with my fleet manager and I go on the board for the first time. This is where the real adventure begins!

Delivered my first load. It was not without its moments.
Am being dead headed down to Maryland to pick up a load of lumber, and then to the house before I take it to dayton ohio. They are doing this just to get me home after 7+ weeks.. I really appreciate it.

When you are with your trainer, even when you are really tired. Try to do all the difficult stuff, like tight backing and manuvering in the truck stop...it is the most dangerous place you will ever drive. Need to get to bed...have to be on the road by 3:30 in the morning....I owe, I owe, so off to work I go!!!!!!

Ops85, JustSonny, dollylama and 2 others Thank this.

Picked up a load of shingles in fredrick maryland. I thought it was lumber yesterday.
Left at 03:30. Had to wait about an hour but then was told to back into dock 4.
There is only about 6 inches max on either side of his dock. That way they can load it with their fork lifts on both sides. It took me forever to get it in there. I actually felt hopeless for a moment:biggrin_25513: There were about 5 others waiting to back in, but could not of course because I was blocking the way with all of my pull ups.
I was pulling to far up at first. Then I realized if I just pull up a little, I could make the adjustmensts. There were times one or the other side of the trailer was only inches from the side. But I got it done...then they loaded 49,000 lbs on me.
I took off and got stuck in some traffic and got to the pa line and stopped at the rest area. The scenery is beautiful...much better than the truck stop.
I will stop for fuel on the way home...it should only take me about 6 hours. I am really looking forward to it. Then I have to load by 10 on Monday Morning.
    Later!

Oh, man, do I feel your frustration! Many times I've seemed to "hold up" other drivers--I tell my self--It's my turn, you boys will just hang tight while I back in! Then, inch my trailer in, feeling quite inadequate with the number of my pull-ups. I take it your axles were spread, and then, most times, it's better to crank it back one wheel rotation beyond a "straight" line up, pull up far enough to somewhat straighten out, & go at it again. Might take 3-4 pull-ups, but you'll sink it in then.

Here's hoping you will enjoy your time # home, & RELAX!! We've all got your back, you've done good:biggrin_25525: By the way, NO TARP on the shingles??:yes2557:

    JustSonny and Mike2633 Thank this.
