Good luck to you two. Pay attention and act professional and you will do fine.

I have one more day of load securement training and then get my truck. It has been a tough two weeks but it has been a lot of fun at the same time. Maverick has a top notch training program. It is the best I have seen or heard of. I am very impressed and look forward to a long career at my new home.

Does the Maverick hotel have laundry facilities?

 

Yes they do and its free. Just bring your own detergent etc.

 

is there restrictions on what you can bring on a bus ex tooth paste shaving supply

 

Here's a link to a list of items that you can and can't bring from Greyhounds website. Looks like they are not as strict as the airlines.

Jim, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to post your experiences with Maverick. I've read this thread in its entirety, and you have provided invaluable insight not only to the company but to the profession itself. I'd also like to thank Sarge, Sewerman, Danfromwindsor, Flatbedder 1966 and others who have contributed to this thread!

I am seriously contemplating making a career change within the next few months, and there is no doubt that Maverick will be the first place I contact. I have a Class A CDL; however, I haven't driven a commercial vehicle since 2000. Hopefully, I would be eligible for the student driver program!

Anyway, thanks again for this great thread and be safe out there!
