I think the new software sucks maybe I'll learn to like it in time but I doubt it.

LOL, those were not short runs. I had 5 loads for 2100 miles recently. Three of those loads were minimum miles.

This week maintenance screwed me again. Went in to replace a windshield, fix trailer ABS, and replace the latch on the wardrobe cabinet.

    1. Windshield was replaced, but they didn't bother reinstalling the EZ-Pass. The "goo" they use to put the windshield on with was not cleaned off and I had a rather large bead of it running down the center seam.

    2. Third attempt at trailer ABS. The light stayed off for a few hours and has been back on every since then. What a waste of time.

    3. The latch was fully disassembled and left on my fridge and the floor. When I asked what the status was (they told me the truck was done), they said they ordered new latches and that that latch was bigger than the others so they couldn't swap any around. They also said I should hurry back because they won't reserve them and they usually go pretty fast. I personally swapped out latches (amazingly, they are the exact same size as the others just on my truck) and called Freightliner. They said the St. Louis store had three and they could get it in about an hour.

    4. The truck wash didn't even work. Just icing on the cake I suppose. I needed a number 4.

So, I lost a day of driving. Got a load to Mt. Airy, NC. When I got there my FMs replacement FM for the week asked if I was still going to Laurinberg. I said no. That was cancelled over a week ago. My FM with no go ahead whatsoever scheduled me for Laurinberg and then forgot to tell the CSR after it all fell through. I got home anyway, but I know fact positive I got a new guys load to do it with. He was talking about picking up at GP in Gladys and dropping off at Lowe's in Lorain. That was the load I got. I never saw him. Thanks, driver. I'm sorry if you didn't get home as a result.

I hope next week is better. I'm hearing it was hectic for a lot of people. Was last holiday, too, IIRC. Thanks to the people who work hard to make it happen. I rather be stressed all week and relaxing at home on the weekend (especially a long one) than listening to 27.185 MHz at a truckstop with ###### WiFi.

It's pretty, but pretty can be both a noun and an adjective.

It's such a nice facility that it really is a crying shame for it to be relegated to a parking lot.

I got to the yard Monday morning and they had just taken the trailer I've had since I switched to flat bed. It was Monday afternoon before they found one for me. They said they have a new Home Depot account in Tennessee and sent them all over there.

I started my week out going to Fart Smith for an 0200 Tuesday appointment at the mill for a load to Marion Ohio. It was 0630 when they finally called me over. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep Monday night waiting for the call. After getting loaded, tarped and showered I headed to the Madison yard where several of us loaded up in the van and went to Golden Corral.

I got to Marion fairly early Wednesday evening. Those folks in Marion sure are friendly. I was at the Moto Mart playing games on my Kindle when I heard a knock on my door. Apparently, the pretty young lady must have thought I looked lonely and asked me if I wanted some company. Although it was awfully nice of her to ask, I told her no thanks.

After getting empty in Marion, I also went to Worthington Steel in Monroe but my load went to Amana Iowa. I delivered that yesterday then went to Independence Tube in Marseilles, IL., got loaded, tarped and took my break. I left there at 0330 this morning and got back to NLR this afternoon.

Has anyone been to Steel Pipe and Supply (may also be called Metals USA) in Houston? Although the W/A says they have over night parking, I don't trust anything about Houston.

i vehemently hated the Madison and NLR shops, and didn't care much for Laurenburg, Gary is top notch.

on a different note, i hear they cleaned house with a few FM's, including my last one.

I personally think the problem is that alot of the mechanics look at them as just another truck that needs work. I look at it as this is my home and how I support my family. Sometimes it is hard to get them to even tell you what they did to the truck. Usually the person that comes and gets you has no clue what was done to the truck. And that goes for the Gary yard as well.
Some people get treated better than others.....and that is all that I am going to say about that....lol:biggrin_2551:
