Heading For Little Rock! Maverick

I ran over 3400mi from Sunday morning to Saturday noon. The load I dropped friday morning was 2800+ for my week and I picked up a 800+mi run to go home.

 

As far as FM's go, why don't they have them ride with a driver for a couple of weeks so they can first hand see what they deal with on a daily basis and then maybe they would have a better understanding when dispatching loads and what is actually able to be done and what is not? Maybe they do this, I don't know. It seems like every time you read about any trucking company that the majority of the issues are between drivers and FM's and them expecting too much. They seem to have a lot of turnover in the FM department along with drivers. By correcting this it may help driver retention. Just my opinion though!

OK, Hello all! I got out of the truck on Friday evening with about 21 minutes to spare, grabbed my stuff, threw it in my car, and sped on home. I haven't even thought about the truck or work for a day now (took the kids to the pool and mowed my jungle of weeds yesterday). But, today is a beautiful Sunday morning and I am having a cup of coffee in front of my computer this a.m., and of course, I have to come to our forum here to start the day. I am fortunate that my usual Monday morning delivery Precision Strip in Minster, OH is not open on Monday, so I am getting close to a three day weekend! Pretty cool I suppose. But it will be a struggle to get 5 runs in this coming week tho.

Nice 2 1/4 day weekend here. Leaving out late Monday for a delivery in OH Tues. Nice to have 717 in the bank on Tues.

 

I'm not worried about FM retention. what I'm saying is that if they see what drivers deal with then maybe they won't put them in situations that piss them off and cause them to quit.
