Congrats Bishop. Now get ready for the REAL WORK! HA!!I must've quit 16 times my first week out on my own! LOLI was on my way to Rockport, IN from delivering in Chattanooga, TN on Wednesday, running out of time, went to Flyin J at exit 2 off I65 in Franklin, KY. For those of you who are familiar with that one, you are smilin, I know...Well, got there at dark-uh oh... One spot open that I thought I could get in but REAL tight, next to another Maverick. I swung up, backed er in real nice, didnt really even think to much about it as I waa tired and wanted to shower & eat. The other Maverick had gotten out and I acknowledged him, he said it was his first week, and that he never wouldve tried that back. He said that was mad skill.Hahaha! I thanked him and went on my way. Now that I think about it, and look back when I was in his shoes not too long ago, I can see myself saying that too. But for the new guys, once you have backed into some of these rediculous doors we have to get in, you will not think its a big deal real soon and will slip in your spots like second nature. OK, I am done now. Headed to Pittsburgh in the a.m., have to hustle if I am gonna get back to home in Midwest OH tomorrow.... Be safe out there everyone.

I've finally made it home after almost 2 weeks out. For some reason, my Kindle Fire won't let me post on here. I spent last week end at the Pilot in Winona, MS. It only has a Taco Bell and they don't serve breakfast.

This week I was in Philadelphia and Pittsburg but never got near Pennsylvania. One was in Mississippi and the other in Kansas.

Maverick sent out a Qualcomm message Tuesday to those of us who live in Arkansas and Tennessee. They're needing more drivers in TCD with the busy season and some new accounts opening up in this area. I replied to it within 10 minutes of receiving it. Before I could get to US Steel from the Madison yard, they called me. They're telling me they think they can get me through the house enough to make it worth my while to try it. I found out today that out of many who responded, 9 were chosen. I am one of them. The problem is, they put the cart before the horse. They don't have any TCD trucks available. Maverick is using some of them on the Home Depot dedicated. They were supposed to have a meeting today to figure out what to do. They may have the 9 of us take our present trucks to Tennessee and swap.

Most of the TCD drivers I've talked to seem to be pretty satisfied. They're miles are up and wait times are down.

    It's worth a shot.

I have heard alot about getting the full rolled tarp up off the floor and placing on trailer as part of the ability test. My question is, how much does it weigh? As i am a small built person but i can handle myself pretty well for my size, just curious as to how hard it is or any tips on doing it?

Do they do the whole heart rate monitor thing, or are they purely interested in your ability to pick the thing up?

Just pick it up and set it on the trailer.

I got a call from Kelly in TCD today. He is going on vacation next week and wants me to wait and come to TCD when he gets back so I can be sure to get on his board. They're also still working out the details of getting the trucks moved back from the Home Depot dedicated fleet.

I'm off until Monday morning. A load that delivers in Searcy is being dropped at the yard tonight. That means I get to watch the Brickyard Sunday.

Its not that hard really. They will show you proper technique. We used to have a lady who prob weighed all of 110lbs that could sling tarps with the best of us.

I weighed about a buck 25 when I started at Maverick last year and I didn't have any trouble putting the tarp on the trailer.

I hope no one's EPU goes out. Mine went out last week and I sucked it up not idling my truck much at night; so my mpg wouldn't go down. That didn't last long. I sent a message last Wednesday that I needed my EPU fixed; so they routed me by the Fort to get a load that I delivered in Richmond, Ky Monday. Knowing I would probably go to Ghent after that; I did and asked for a load going to Ryerson Tull in Little Rock for Tues. Well that didn't happen. I got 17 coils that delivered to LTI warehouse in Savannah, GA. It had a Tues or Wednesday drop and I made the delivery on Tues at 1400. They quit receiving at 1500 even though the work assignment says 1530. While I was getting unloaded I was thinking, "they are going to send me to Georgetown to get a load of slinkies going to Pine Bluff". WRONG! They sent a preplan picking up in Augusta, GA headed to Clarksville, Indiana. I sent in a free form and had my FM to call me and see it there were any loads at Georgetown I could pick up that went to Pine Bluff; so I could put my truck in the shop. They took the Georgia run off of me and put the one I asked on me for a Wed pickup and a Friday delivery. I made it to Mittal Tues night and got loaded early and left out the next morning. I delivered my load Thursday morning and came to the Rock and they sent my truck to Freightliner. I was told it would be a 2 day fix so long as they had the parts. My 34 restart will be over in the morning; so if my truck gets out tomorrow I am going to see if there is a load I can go pickup that delivers Sunday or Monday. Hope ya'll have a blessed and safe week!
