Picked up in Gary Tuesday going to Paris Texas. Delivered that on Wednesday then headed to Shreveport Louisiana and loaded Thursday morning going up by Rogers Arkansas delivered Thursday afternoon. Then they sent me a work assignment to pick up at the Fort going to Columbus Indiana for Monday. I sent my FM a message saying the CSR is nuts. That load is 200 miles south of my house. A load going to Wisconsin to Detroit I can go to the house and they give me a Columbus Indiana. 5 min. later they change load assignments and picking up a load going to Chicago. Made home Saturday at one will deliver Monday in Chicago it's just 50 miles from my house.

Have a great weekend, drive safe and enjoy the ride.

Well I finally got empty at 10pm last night. Wasted my whole Saturday, 70 miles from home.......
The driver that I was supposed to meet with and repower his load, got tired of waiting and told me and Maverick that he would just deliver it himself on Monday.
Gonna have to wait till 10am local time on Monday if I want a restart.

Hey all Maverick drivers, I have been paying close attention to this thread, and the other mav threads on here. I am just getting done with cdl school and applied to maverick today. I spoke with one of the recruiters, Jeff Bone, and he seemed pretty nice but he said the only division that is hiring in my area (Richmond VA) is the glass division. I would have liked the flatbed because that comes with the possibility of making it home every weekend, the glass you are out for 2+ weeks at a time. I guess the plus sides of that are you get to motor through all of north america and get paid pretty handsomely for it as well.

Thanks for all of the great info you guys have been posting. I am especially gratefull that you all have commented on every aspect of life on the road and with mav, not just embellished the good and left out the bad.

I might have to change my name to glassparanoia soon...

I know a glass driver who lives in VA. He gets no miles! Just a bad area for Maverick / Glass. You should move to the mid-west and go flatbed. IMO

Moving is not really an option right now, just bought a house. The recruiter at mav gave me the typical "2000 - 2500 miles per week" response. Since he doesn't get many miles does he sit home or is he out sitting in his truck somewhere? What part of VA is he from?

Miles could depend on driver motivation to. I had a driver that lived 20mi from me that swore it was a bad area because he couldnt get any miles. His problem was too much stopping and not enough driving.

Yeah if I'm gonna run and be away from home I want to run hard and make the most of it. If I want to sit I'll sit at home on my couch. If I am going to be in a truck then I want the wheels to be spinning as much as possible. If the wheels ain't moving I'm not making money!

There are plenty of crappy diners and truck stops around me that I can drive my own car to and sit and eat greasy food if I want to. :yes2557:
