rub two sticks together real fast repeatedly, then use the spark to create fire on some old laundry lint or other flammable substance. hold food in small pan over flame for several minutes..... LOL

Use your defrost setting on the truck heater, lay the cans on the dash over the vent...works great for canned stuff like spaghetti, ravioli, etc...not exactly gourmet meals, but its food...hot food.

You could get one of those Electric Lunchboxes made by RoadPro. Sarge had one when I was in his truck, I liked it, so I got one, actually wife bought it for me. Crack open/vent the can ever so slightly, place inside, close the lunchbox and plug in. About 20 minutes (about the time it takes to load and tarp LOL) and you have hot soup, or whatever you want to heat. Inverter has NO problem running it while truck off. I still use mine occasionally when I don't want to lug out the microwave from under my bunk.
Here's a link to see what it looks like: http://www.roadtrucker.com/12-volt-cooking/12-volt-300-degree-lunchbox-stove.htm

Jim just like when you were a young man. You put the wood in the Franklin stove make sure your damper is open. LOL

I would just try a different microwave. Sometimes those high-priced $40 microwaves just start acting up.

I agree with sewerman, sometimes after bumping around in the truck the microwaves just start acting up. I usually get about 2 years then have to get another cheap microwave. I only get about a year on a coleman electric cooler before I need a new one of those. I guess considering the money saved with those two items, even if I had to buy both each year that would still be better than $40/day in the restaraunt.

Will the coleman electric cooler fit in the spot in the truck, Ive seen alot of Maverick trucks with a cooler in the passenger seat. I always sat in the passenger seat while on line 1 or 2.

I dont know about others but I put my cooler in the seat for better temperature stability. Sitting on the floor it will either stay too warm or too cold depending on time of year.

Then you won't be able to sit in the passenger seat while eating or during a reset, or whatever.

I have my powerchill in the space used for a fridge, microwave and 19" flat screen tv on a shelf I built at the end of the bed and Xbox in the location meant for the tv. I had to build the shelf.... I was getting tired of getting the microwave out every time I needed it!
