I received "the call" from recruiting. I have been accepted to orientation. As soon as I apply for my passport card, they will schedule my orientation.
Thanks guys, Jim, for all your threads and support.
Ive seen it with my own eyes in the past, sitting in a truck stop down for 10, Ive seen Maverick trucks parked side by side. Ive also watched the "black and chrome" trucks drive right past me to go park wherever.
Did that last sentence make sense?
The road test at orientation, I haven't backed a spread axle since August, and I have never driven an automatic. How strict are they with that?

I did not have to back. Start slow and.when you stop put your left foot on the brake.as it will roll backwards. It is a very easy test. Just do not run over any curbs or grass.

As Jim said, it's not difficult, just don't hit anything. When I did it in November they had two of us go out together. I drove second. Make sure you take exits 10 mph below the posted speed. It was kinda tricky for me because the speed limit sign was blocked by the exit sign (seriously). I mentioned this to Jeff (Instructor giving the road test) and he said "Then don't go any faster than 10 Mph" and smiled.

IMHO the road test is just to make sure you're a safe driver. They don't ask for anything fancy, just prove you're not a danger to others.

Those that can do, those that can't teach those that can.

On the way back to the yard. If trucks are backed up waiting to get into the pilot. Don't cross the double yellow to go around them.

Delivered in blue island Illinois Monday. Then went over to portage Indiana and picked up a load for Springdale Arkansas. Delivered Springdale Tuesday then went to Fort Smith and picked up a load going to Morristown Tennessee that sucks there is no freight in that area. Unloaded Thursday morning then sit for five hours. Then I get sent to Calvert city Kentucky to pick up Friday morning for a load going to hamnound Indiana and how sweet it is. Made it home 630 Friday night.

Have a great weekend, drive safe and enjoy the ride
