When I worked for SNI I got dispatched on a load that paid 0 miles. It was all in Greensboro, NC. 7 miles to pickup at a drop yard, 10 miles to delivery for a live unload. It paid a total of 25 bucks and wasted 8 hours on the last part of my day. The $25 was the flat rate they paid dire short hauls under 25 miles.

Yeah! Tell me about it Man! Those loads are usually the ones that eat up my entire clock too, go figure.... But they ARE. SERIOUSLY. ONE MILE LOADS. ONE MILE....

As in it would be faster to just take the pallets one at a time on the forklift than to bother loading and tarping a flatbed? Our maybe just band the hell out of the coil and roll it down the street.

thats what I always say during my rant about it when they give us those runs when I am standing there with some of the other PLD guys.... "I could just freakin roll it across the darn street faster than the whole loading process at AK Middletown takes..."

    For the trainers.

Ive been on my active duty orders since mid September. Probably wont get back till late May or early June. My FM has me on military leave & stays in the loop with everything I'm doing. When I come back to Maverick, will I have to go back through training, or will I just get back in a truck?

Razor you might want to check with your FM on that flat rate of $25. Reason I say that is because when I was at Maverick, I was at Sumiden Wire in Dickson, Tn and had a load that went less than a 1/2 mile down the road and got paid $75 (and no I didn't have to tarp it). I was there the night before; so I didn't have to start my clock. After I got unloaded, I was turned around to go back to Sumiden to get a load going to Roberts, WI.
