Two weeks ago, i had to have the truck into the knoxville FL to have the egr lline unplugged. Yesterday on the way down to Tenn, both of my check engine lights came on. About 10 miles from exit 2 on I65 the truck was stuck in 9th gear and would not shift out of it. I pulled to the side and tried to move it in 2nd, but it would not shift out of it. So I sent in my breakdown call. I was told to turn off the main power switch for 10 minutes and see if it reset. The transmission reset, but I still had one light on.
They told me to head to the Nashville Freight LIner after my delivery. I drove to the truck stop with no issues.
This morning when I started the truck, it ideled very rough. When I went to pull out it had no power.
I decided to take a chance that it would even out and I could make the delivery only 35 miles away.
I got about 10 miles and it lost power. So I found a place to pull over and called it a day. First time ever being towed.
So I am now in the Freight liner in Nashville. The truck harldly would make it around the parking lot to drop the trailer and park the tractor.
I might have to have it repowered, but will not know until I hear back from my fm.

A couple of weeks ago while going through Milwaukee, I was in the center lane and there was a hopper bottom on my right. There was a cop on the right shoulder with a capture. I thought to myself, I hope he does not move over to get away to the cop....he did and his handle for his top cover hit my mirror pushing it forward. He did not stop. I got on the radio and called to him. Some other driver asked me if I wanted his drivers license...and I said yes. When the guy heard his number over the radio, he asked what was going on.. I then communicated with him and we found a place up the road to exchange information.

One of the things I have always dreaded was something happening at home that I would not be there to take care of. While I was at Madison I had to talk with the vet and have my Beagle put to sleep. My wife had to do it by herself, which still bothers me. That is one aspect of driving that I will never get used to. When I left home, my dog was laying on the couch. When I got home, she was in a box sitting on the table!

Sorry to hear about your pup. I had to putvdown my 12yr old beagle a couple years ago. It was rough but best for him as he had cancer and it wasnt responding to any treatments. I still miss him but my new boxer pup helps me forget the hurt.

Sorry to hear about your pup. They become so much of our family for the relatively short time they are "ours". Just as with everything else, life goes on and we do the best we can. It is nice to know that you have a strong wife that can take care of things when you are not there. Peace.

Thanks for the kind comments! It was the same grief as when my parents died....Love is Love and it hurts like hell!
They were not able to look at my truck, so I am in the super 8. The trailer I got has a burned out turn signal...the one under the deck on the side....Will have to see what else I find.
My truck could hardly drive around the parking lot in 2nd gear to put my chains ect away....
Hope they get it fixed!

Do not have any nice things to say about the freightliner in Nashville.. Still have not looked at the two main problems that I took it in for...so I am back at the Super 8
