Yeah, me too. They called me a day before the message went out to the fleet to see if I was interested. I have told them I was.... We'll see. I am still not 100% sure about it yet though.... How do you feel about it Jim?

Started Tuesday off with the load going to Wheeling Nisshin in Follansbee WV. My appointment said 11:00, but the work order said you could get there up to 4 hrs ahead. So I took them up on it. Just before I got there, I got a preplan to pick up there going to Challenge Mfg in Holland Michigan. When I checked in, the guard asked me if I was just delivering. I told him I had a load to pick up, but knew I had to leave and then scale back in. He looked at me strange and said , "no you don't". So I gave him my pick up number and he gave me my paperwork for the next load right then and there. That was the first time that had ever happened. I got pulled right in with no wait, and then I got in with no wait to pick up my next load. I was done and finished by 11:00 when my original appointment was.
Spent the night up on the tollway in Indiana and headed out early in the morning. I could not make heads or tails out of the directions to the place so I called and listened to their directions....piece of cake. I did update them and put the alternate directions.
When I got there there was another truck getting unloaded with skidded coils. I was not sure If I was at the right door. I tried to ask the guy running the fork lift when he got off of the thing, if I was in the right place. Each time he yelled, I will be with you in a minute. The second time I told him I just wanted to ask you a quick question....I then stepped back and waited. He finally yelled to me " If you have coils, they go here. So I went back to my truck and waited for the truck to back out. When I got to the door, there was a cone there, so I got out and walked to the desk. No one was around. There was a guy in the coil field, taking off tags. He directs me to go around the corner. I do and there is no one there. So I go back to get my paper work and go back to where the guy had directed me. Then I hear the same forklift driver yell at me to get out of there and to go back to the first desk. So I go and stand there and wait. When he comes over, I tell him that the only reason I went around the corner was because I was directed to do so.
He then yells, "PAUL, COME HERE! Paul comes over.....did you tell him to go around the corner? Yes! DON'T EVER DO THAT, HE IS NOT AN EMPLOYEE! Yes sir Paul says and walks away. I tell the guy, I did not mean to get him in trouble. He says, " He should know better!...Then he tells me to back in and I do. I get out and he starts asking me if I had a good holiday and we were best of friends.....lol
From there, I got dead headed down to SDI in Butler to pick up a coil going to Precoat MMC in Granite City. I got to load in the back section and since no one was behind me, I got to totally secure and tarp inside....sweet! I wish I could tell you where I spent the night, but honestly, I can not remember right now...lol
When I got to Precoat MMC, there was another Mav parked there. I walked by but he was still asleep. I checked in and was told to pull up to the door and untarp and unchain. I checked one last time to make sure he was not up. As I was untarping, I heard his alarm go off for about 5 minutes.
Got unloaded and sat for about an hour plus and then got a load to pick up at Heidtman steel just up the road for 1300...it was 0930.
I thought about going to the yard, but decided to just be first in line and get loaded early if possible. I ended up getting in and loaded, tarped and out of there by 1300, so it was a good move. This load went to Grafton WI at Kapco.
I made it to exit 27 on I39 and had dinner at Woody's. It was excellent. There were Tornado watches and the truck rocked and rolled all night long.
Got up at 0230, fueled and was on my way.
Got to Kapco in Grafton and made a slight error. The directions said turn at the second light, so I did...wrong....it was the third light. No big deal. Got turned around and back on course.
As soon as I was taking the chains off of the last stack (had seven) of skidded coils, he was taking them off...So it was very quick.
Sat for about 30 minutes and got a load to pick up in Portage In at the Port. Leeco Steel. Got 3 pieces of 1.5 in steel 20 feet long. Total weight 29,000 lbs.
Made it to the Scales just inside of Ohio. I was the only one there and it was great. Farms and wind mills all around. Storms through the night and hail at one point.
Headed out about 0600 and was home by 0815.
No time for a reset this week and will be heading out at 0830 Tomorrow going to OOletwah Tn...C&P enterprises. The work order said over night parking. I called them and they said not on Sunday as the gate would be locked. So it is always a good idea to call ahead of time.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

sewerman, jxu417 and Bigdubber Thank this.
