Sorry to hear you're no longer a trainer Jim, I'm heading to Orientation on 09/08/13, I picked Maverick, in large part, because of the info on this thread, you've given a lot of people a real insight into the job. I almost feel like I know you already...

Thank you, and hopefully we'll meet on the road soon!!!

    God Bless!!!

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

Thank you for the kind words. Maverick has a lot of excellent trainers. I will continue to keep this thread updated and I will also continue to try and help people on a one on one basis as i meet them. If they are a jerk, I will not help them, if they are receptive, I will help them.
As I have always said, one of the things that I love about this job is that you do not have to put up with certain things, you can just walk away!
    Best of luck to you!

Received my certificate of excellence for last quarter. I made the top ten on my board in MPG, OOR, and miles. I also looked at the pfp for last quarter and I was either 5th, 6th, or 7th in the company. So I am happy with my efforts.

It has been an interesting week so far. Drove sunday to knoxville and spent the night at the j. Arrived at precision.strip in talladega and did not have to wait to get a door. That was nice.for.a change. Got a load to pick up at steelscape.in Fairfield al. Did.not load until 1800 and it was only 1430. So i headed over to the pilot in Birmingham. Made a nice blindside back iso myself...lol. there was no weight on the work assignment. When I checked.in the load was 49700. I told the guy right then I could not carry that much.he said you are in trouble then. Told him I would park and call in. I was told I had to det loaded, go.find a.scale, and then come back to the shipper. I asked who was going to pay my ticket if I got busted. Was.asked if I had to go over any scales. Said I was not sure. I.then sent in a message on qualcom stating what I was directed to.do and by whom. Loaded.the six skidded.coils and started to secure. I had to.go in the cab and noticed.a message. It was a chane of load status and a message saying to go find a place to park that they would find someone else.to take.care of the load. I.sent them back a message and also called them to let them know i was already loaded and to put the load back on me. I.was out of hours when finished and eS told.I.could park over against the fence.
In.the morning I checked.in with.shipping to let them know that I was leaving to.go.scale. the guy got upset that I spent.the night in here. Told.him I was.told.I could. He told me that he was telling.me.that.they were not.supposed to.do.that.. so i went and scaled.and.am 1300 lbs over with 3/4 tank of fuel. I am back at shipper and I have a feeling this is going to take.awhile.

Is it your truck or trailer that is so much heavier than mine? My truck is a 2012 and with the new trailers they bought and a full tank I'm only 29xxxlbs.
