Got hung out last weekend at the the Gary Yard. Not bad because I had a car to go re-supply, a nice tv and shower and laundry.
I picked up the load in St Paul Mn and it was going to South Bend Indiana. So I was only 70 miles from it on Monday. Got there and did not have to wait very long to get unloaded. Very nice people. It was General Machine. I probably sat for about 20 minutes and I got my next load which was Leeco Steel in Portage Indiana going to Leeco Steel in Chattanoga Tn. Probably sat for about an hour before I got loaded with 40,000 lbs of steel plates. It was a tarp load which is very easy.
Made my delivery on Tuesday and my next load was picking up vinyl siding at Varifoam in Jasper Tn. It was stacked three high and weighed under 30,000 lbs. It looked like the crates it was in were pretty well made...but I was to find out differently tomorrow.
Spent the night at a rest area in Alabama and then made my way down into Florida in the Morning. First time ever taking a load to Florida.....Pensacola.
Just after I got into Florida and in a small town, the light changed on me very quick. I did not want to take a chance on getting a ticket so I hit the brakes. Not really all that hard, but harder than I would normally do making a routine stop. I continued on. I then noticed that one of my straps was loose which had not been the entire trip. So when I could, I got pulled over and looked. I was shocked. The bottom crates colapsed and the top two moved forward. I put another portable strap over the top and then proceeded the last thirty miles at about 35 mph with my flashers on. Got there with no further issues...but they need to improve their crates.
Got sent up to Monroeville Al to pick up a load of particle board going to Mt Sterling Ky. My initial appointment was for 1100 which I could not make, so they gave me another one for 1600 which I could do. Got there and got unloaded right away. I had a preplan going to NAS in ghent with a load going to Ambridge pa. Got three coils. Two skidded, but all set up shotgun.
Made it home by three on Friday and will head out today...Sunday at 1530. Going to stop at the last service plaza in ohio on I76 and will be 37 miles from where I deliver on Monday Morning.
Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Be careful at these service plazas as one of our glass guys got robbed early in the morning going into get coffee. Be very attentive of your imeadiate surroundings as soon as you get out of your truck. There was two women in a mini-van asking about directions and a second later the driver was poked in the back was had his phone and wallet stolen. I carry brake clean with me and is totally dot leagal. It shoots a stream 25 feet long and is more effective against a thief than any kind of weapon.

Haven't contacted them yet due to us interring my mother's ashes yesterday. I wanted to make sure I was around for that. I will probably contact them Tuesday.
