I really wish they would let drivers applying know why they are not rehired. I have no idea why they dont. You two aren't the first, and I promise you won't be the last not to be told why. The loss of a loved one just my opinion of course should be excuseable for not giving notice. Yes maverick is a business and yes they need to make money to stay in business so for those with less than 6mos otr, they require to go out with an instructor. Last figures I heard were by the time a new driver gets their own truck, maverick has spent about $8,500 on that new driver and training thereof. So for someone they rehire that would be required to go out with a trainer again $17,000 by the time they get their own truck. I've also heard it takes maverick 6mos before the profits generated by a new drivers truck is recouped. So that may be why you heard time and time again, "give us 6 mos".
I had gone to my parents house when my mother who battled breast cancer for 13 years was getting out of the hospital. Brought her home from the hospital and spent thursday thru Sunday with her and then returned home to go back to work. Tuesday while on my 10 hr in little rock, my father calls and says moms probably not going to make it through the night. She died 2am the next morning. The important thing is I was there. Just as the important thing is you two were there for your relatives when they needed you the most. Not that maverick is not hiring you back right now.
Yes it sucks that they aren't giving you a specific reason why and no its not because of some "black hat strippers?" Was it? But one of you has found something better and I'm sure flareblitz, something will come along better than a bankrupt, corrupt security company. Been through plenty of job searches in my life, some a lot longer than others. Treated it like a full time job looking for a new one.
As far as gettiing in touch with mama Kay, ever called maverick and just asked whomever answered, "may I speak to mama Kay please?"
Lastly, many people employed by maverick read but do not post in here that may or may not be on the hiring committee so don't burn any bridges that may be available to you in the future by bad mouthing the company or its programs ie black hats. Again, the color of your hat, shirt or whether or not you have an 8 as the 3rd digit in your truck doesn't make me any better than a guy that just clicked yes on the computer. But that's just mekylefitzy, JimTheHut, robert.smith and 1 other person Thank this. -
I don't plan on badmouthing anyone at Maverick or the company itself. I'm just irritated at not knowing why. Wondering if it's something I could've fixed or not. :\
