First I want to give a big THANK YOU to all the Maverick drivers that post here and allow us all to follow you in your travels and experiences. I have read all of this thread and many others and I know when I say this it has been an invaluable tool in helping me and many others with there decision about going with Maverick. I drove many, many moons ago so when I was looking at getting back to driving (and flatbed is my first choice) I was hoping Maverick would accept me. After applying online and speaking with my recruiter on several occasions, he called me this past Friday 5-30 and told me my application was accepted. As you would guess I was very excited and appreciative of Maverick to give me this opportunity to work as part of the team. I am now just waiting to get an orientation date so I can head to the Rock (and not Okinawa this time, I know several of the former military guys will get that one). I will keep you posted on my progress and when I get the orientation date. Thanks again everyone for the time and effort y'all put into this thread.

Haven't done that yet Sarge, waiting to see if they contact me Monday. If not then I'll get in touch with HR. I think Averitt still has to verify it with Maverick though since I fubar'd.

Hey guys. I just retired from the Army and have been talking to Donnie G (recruiter) for the last few months and got everything approved for me to come to Maverick. All I am waiting on is my orientation date towards the end of the month. Have to wait until my daughter graduates high school before I can go anywhere. I want to thank everyone who has posted here that helped me to make my decision to come to Maverick. Hope to see you all on the road sometime. Until then, ride safe.

Howdy Jim, thanks for the link. I'll be checking in from time to time.
For those who don't know me, I'm the Maverick driver who picked Jim up @ the Little Rock airport & delivered him to Maverick orientation. My career w/Maverick began on 1/7/10, a few weeks before Jim's. I've since driven about a half million safe, ticket-free miles and trained students to be successful drivers. As I taught each of my students, Maverick and I are in the business of helping folks to be successful drivers. I look forward to interacting with you folks. Meanwhile, make it a great day and enjoy & share God's blessings.Extrm41 and sarge26044 Thank this. -
Hello all, I had previously posted that my application was accepted last Friday and what I meant to say is that it was approved (semantics I suppose). Either way I am just waiting on an orientation date so I can get my career with Maverick started. Will send updates as I get them.
sarge26044 Thanks this. -
Welcome one and all whom have been accepted/approved, preapproved, prepreapproved, infinity. For those of you new to the thread, Jim the hut started it over 4 years ago when he first came to maverick. Over the years, Jim and others have answered many FAQs (frequently asked questions) from drivers interested in working for maverick. I always recommend new drivers read the thread start to finish because many of the questions they ask, have been asked and answered time and time again. Also, Jim's thread is the longest running, most informative one on here about Maverick. Again welcome and good luck.
Extrm41 Thanks this. -
