About two months ago I was approached by Maverick about a over the road recruiter. I passed the telephone interview with Hr. The following week I was going through little rock, so I contacted Brad in recruiting and set up my interview appointment. It all seemed to go well. Two weeks ago they said they were still interviewing and had not made any decisions yet, but I was still in the running.
Last week I received a call from HR and was offered the position. I accepted. The next day I spoke with Brad again and he was excited that I had accepted. I am on vacation this week, so it will probably be a couple of weeks before I get the truck back to Little Rock.
The main reason I took the position is that I am 62 years old and still in great shape and able to do this job with no problems. But there was going to come a time when I could not and I would either have to leave Maverick or switch to TCD.
This way, I get to stay with Maverick and I am in a job that I can do until they force me to retire screaming and kicking...lol
I will be making presentations to Truck Driving Schools and telling the Maverick story.
l of course have mixed emotions because I love pulling a flatbed and doing this job...but I did not want to pass on something that could last me the last of my working career. I am looking forward to this new challenge and will continue to tell of my adventures on here and will continue to answer questions...at least the ones that everyone else does not beat me to....lol

No more big rig. I will be driving a Ford Van of some sorts with a Maverick Wrap on it. Have not seen one yet to be able to say what it will look like.

So will they have you constantly moving from school to school? Or do they have it on a different kind of schedule?
