Heading For Little Rock! Maverick

I did RAT for 4.5 years prior to going into recruiting. It is a great division in my opinion.

 

Well tomorrow starts Heading To Little Rock part 2. At least this time I have a much better idea of what to expect! I have enjoyed the week off and was able to get many things completed and lined up for my life going forward! I have truck evaluation and skills on Monday. At 1 pm I have to do a securement refresher course and then Tuesday and Wednesday I have two days of boat securement training. I am scheduled to be turned over to operations on Thursday. My guess then I will head to Elkhart Indiana.
I am scheduled to be off the week of Memorial day( already had to planned). So I do not think they will send me too far but we will have to wait and see. It is trucking so anything can happen!

 

I had a 2 hour road test yesterday which involved city, highway, 2 lane country roads, state routes, us routes, hills ect.
Then when finished I had to back and alley dock. I did excellent in my humble opinion...lol.
In the afternoon I had my refresher in securements followed by a test.....no problem.
I also learned people net.
I have boat training this afternoon and tomorrow then I get turned over to operations.

 

Had a 4 hr class on hauling boats today. It appears that it will be more physical and more involved than I thought but I am still excited about it. We will be out in the training bay tomorrow putting up and taking down the racks. Training starts at 0630.

 

I completed boat training today. I found muscles that I had forgotten.....they are reminding me now.
It is far from the cake walk that I thought it would be....but nothing I can not handle. Saw my buddy Dave off in his 2020 Cascadia...had I gone flat bed I would have had a new one too.
I find out tomorrow where my truck is.....probably in Portage Indiana.

 

I met the operations manager today and got my truck number. It is a 2018.
Picked up my rental vehicle. It is a brand new Dodge Ram 1500 truck...4 door.
Drove to the Madison yard with a new driver who was picking up his 2018. Maverick got me a room at the nearby comfort Inn.
I will drive to portage tomorrow to get my truck

It was neat seeing a new driver get his very first Rig.

 

He was so excited! He had a great attitude....he will do well!
