I want to first Thank Jim the Hut for all of the time and information that he has posted on here, along with all of the others that have responded. I have been following this and the related threads for the past few weeks and count them as priceless information for a beginner (newbie) such as myself. I have a few questions if anyone can answer for me. I received a call from my maverick recruiter this morning and he asked me if I would be interested in attending the orientation this sunday if an applicant ahead of me could not make it. I responded that it was just a little too short of a notice but I would for sure be ready for the following sunday if it was available. He told me that he would know about the next available spot by monday afternoon. I hope I didnt just put myself at the end of the line? I applied for the Glass division because I was in the Hiring area. What was anyones else experience with the Glass Division Orientation? Thank you in advance for any information.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

Hi Jim. Hubby was having the same problem with his truck not starting. He was having to get a jump every week. First they replaced a couple of batteries and ended up replacing the alternator too. It's been fine since then. His miles were lousy last week too. This weeks been kinda slow but he's had to go through some bad weather. At least he's home safe now. You all be careful out there.

Sparky; if you can catch dollylama on here she is in the glass div. She is a trainer in that div now. She could probably give you some insight. When I applied (us div) I had something come up and had to move my orientation back a week. It was not a issue with them.

I hauled glass for a few years...but I'm too far "out of date" to offer any reliable intel on it.

    Good luck...

Thank you notarps and ridgerunner. I will try to contact dollylama for information. It also appears that rugerdave is headed up the same trail and matbe he can shed some light on the experience.

Sparky, be assured you'll be ok in getting scheduled for the next orientation, your location is great for running out of Wichita Falls and the demand for drivers there is high. I can't think of too many people who could be ready for 5-6 weeks away from home with 2 days notice, not to mention a possible bus ride thrown in! Glass division training is 1 week in North Little Rock AR, then 1 week in Laurinburg NC. Then hopefully a short wait for your trainer, and 21 day minimum with the trainer. Let us know of any further questions, there's a good bunch on here, all willing to give you answers if we have them.

either that or inside the side fairings(sp?) rather than from the catwalk to the frame as most do. "out of sight, out of mind"
