I am leaving for orientation that begins on the 27th of April and I was wondering if there was any pointers anyone could give me in advance so I have an idea of what the company is like and how willing they actually are to let me go solo after my required time of teaming with a partner? Also is there anyone else out there that is also starting orientation there on the 27th that I could talk to or possibly meet up with there so I have someone to talk and BS with? New to the industry and very excited to hit the open road and see what the industry has to offer. I just graduated school so I haven't talked to many drivers, more recruiters than anything. Thank you!

they are scam from the bottom of the bowl....don't go their

If the Covenant recruiter told you it's daylight out, be sure to check that it's not dark. Their recruiters have a hard time telling fact from fiction

What makes them the bottom of the bowl? Just out of curiosity.

low pay, they will treat you like scam, lairs, all in the name of Christianity...i wouldn't want to be Mr Parker when it comes judgment day[h=3][/h]

I've heard that Mr Parker prays at his desk every morning for 30 mins ...i think it may go something like this...( please god forgive me for what a have done. and what i'm doing and for what i'm gonna do....
TST65 and joseph1135 Thank this. -
I think they are a pretty good company. and I think you will be able to advance quickly.
A good place to start and get some good experience under your belt.
They have a good reputation with shippers as being dependable.
I see there trucks a lot on my weekly run from Montgomery, AL to Fresno, CA and back.
Talking with there veteran drivers on the CB they are friendly and courteous Gentlemen and Ladies.
That get plenty of miles and good pay based on there experience.
Really the trick is getting a good dispatcher,
that has respect for you and give them respect up front and become good friends.
cause if they like you .
You will get the good runs that you like. That make you the money you want.
Don,t complain unless it is absolutely necessary, and if you have to complain do it politely.
and be a problem solver and not a problem creator.
make your pick up and delivery,s on time..and keep your driving record and your nose clean.
Do this for a bit of time without job hopping.
and pretty soon you will be able to get most any driving job you want with top pay.
Good luck and happy trails.
P.S I live about 40 miles south of there headquarters in Alabama.
And i think they are one of the top five starter companies out there.ZackTheVet93 Thanks this. -
Thank you for the positive reply with truth and facts about the company. I'm really excited and looking to hit the road and get some experience. I'm still really young so I'd like a company to stick with, especially because it's always been a passion of mine to drive I'd hate for one bad company to put a bad taste in my mouth. Thanks for the pointers with dispatchers and things also!

Man, no offense but it sounds like there's some personal things that are causing you to have so much hatred towards a company? I understand it may not be the best, but it also isn't the worst. If the world was perfect then life would be boring and pointless. I thank you for your advice but it's really sounding like you have a personal vendetta against the company like they've done something to you or something along those lines. I've heard alot of good things about them, I've also heard bad things but nothing as what you are describing.
jeff18 Thanks this.
