I'll find you, that burger sounds good. I got to be close to your home, we are about in Asheville now. I got a 7 hour layover in Indianapolis, I guess that's when I'll get some sleep. I just can't wait to get started.

How often are their classes. I want to go TMC as their reputation seems to be one of professionalism. I've been around trucks my whole life and if I'm going to work for somebody, I might as well work for one that has nice trucks and if they break down I don't have to worry about fixing it. I'm going to attend united CDL school in MA next month and will graduate in September. I want to get on board before winter so I don't have to plow snow all winter again (although last winter wasn't that bad). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.....

As he stated, a new class starts on monday. The first day is when they weed out people. Drug test, background checks, lifting the tarp. Hey guys, that tarp is heavy, but I think the fear of failure makes it feel heavier than it really is. I pick mine up all the time out here on the road. It just about kicked my butt in orientation. The first weekend is securement training. Great stuff. The second week will be driving. You will have a great time if you will allow yourself to. If that made any sense? Expect long days. But remember, its temporary. It will pass.

If you stopped at the greyhound in asheville, then yes you made it to my house before I did. I live about 30 minutes from the bus station.

I made it through day one! You were on the money with the weeding people out we lost several today. They called about 5 people to an office and they would be gone a minute come back and grab their things. Then they called my name, I was scared to death, thinking I know what's about to happen. It was just a question about a prescription I have. I was thinking oh no here goes another miserable bus ride. I was the only one called to the office and still here. Well guess I'm gonna hit the sack........be safe.

i've always wondered why they would do that in orientation, when they can simply do that before bringing them to orientation & save money

I think they do it to help keep the fear factor up. Just my opinion. So what do you think of Desmoines so far? Is it not the nicest trucking company terminal you've ever seen? I'll be heading your way here shortly. I dont have details, but I know I have to go pick up a load and take it to St. Louis. Im gonna stop at a truck wash before I hit the shipper, if possible this morning. Keep us posted on your orientation. Good luck friend.
