Does anyone know what it's going to be with the holiday schedule. On the email it says...well...."The total
student’s training time consists of 20 days Classroom and Range instruction.
The Swift Driving Academy operates year-round, excluding the following holidays:
    New Year’s Day Labor Day
    Memorial Day Thanksgiving Day
    Independence Day Christmas Day
Extra training hours during the standard (20) day program will make up for these
    days."

Not sure what date that means we'll be done...maybe the 30th?

Hey there, mine took 23 days start to finish not including orientation which was a few more the next week. I took it in phoenix and enjoyed it. Good luck.

There is no need to be intimidated, as long as your drug free, and have a good driving record. The school is easy, just don't listen to the know it alls. We had two, one got sent home, and the other was held back a week. Bring some warm clothes. you will be on the range for a week, and it might get real cold. I had coveralls, gloves, and a goofy looking warm hat.

If you get a lazy mentor, fire him asap. A good way to tell if he is lazy, he will not do a pre trip. My mentor didn't do a single pre trip in the six weeks I was with him.

toostroked, thanks for the info. I expect lots of hard work, and am going to treat it like my life depends on it (and well, financially, I suppose it does). I guess there are people out there who just cant drive a truck for whatever reason, I imagine they want you to succeed as long as you keep working hard, but has given me some anxiety. I mean, is it possible I'll just be a doofus who can't back a truck up or something? Hopefully not! Once I get through the school, I have lots of worries about the mentor, mainly b/c I know how hard it can be to live with someone you don't know for at least six weeks...plus worried that I'll make a mistake, but I guess worry never done anyone any good.

Tying up loose ends here, tomorrow is the last day for me to do weekday stuff before I leave.

I know as far as I have been told by my recruiter (I know she opened her mouth so assume it's a lie.) but, first week will be classroom the 2nd week will be range which would be last day Saturday the 25th. After that it's back to home domicile terminal for a week of road training and CDL testing.

I'm still waiting on my Mentor. This is now the forth week I have had to wait. he called me Tuesday and said truck is in the shop and will let you know when I am coming to get you.

Well today he called and told me I need to call driver services to request a new mentor. This is getting old
