Yes I had contacted quite a few places before I showed up so that they would have time to review everything and then got in touch again the day before I left so they knew when I would be there. I am starting at $25 an hour, $35 for overtime. It's cool because $5/hour is done as a per diem so it's not taxed. It's been a little slow everywhere but it is starting to pick up. Should easily get 60 hours a week minimum once I am done with the training and stuff. You have to show up though.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Heading to ND in a week!

Do you have 2 years of experience and what are you hauling? Any Benefits?
-
Isn't $25 per hour at time and a half $37.50. Make sure they aren't screwing you bighog.
Also, I believe a per diem has to be paid on a separate line and not included in the hourly wage. Not for certain but you should ask. -
Cold Weather Gear here ya go, some info on what ya need up there....my husband is headed up to ND as well and hammer started this thread for us....hope it helps!!!!
-
Wow no benefits no time off no thanks
-
The time and a half is based on the $20/hr so it's $30/hr plus the $5/hr per diem.
Did I say anything about no time off? Two weeks off per month is probably better than most
That's fine, you can stay home and leave the big money to the rest of us,
AC22 and UpNorth2662 Thank this. -
My experience came from the military. I have driven in the Army for over five years. All I did was go to a trucking school and rent their truck for a few hours to take my test for my CDL. Most places will have you do a driving test so if you really aren't good with your shifts and handling heavy loads then you should probably get some practice some how before you just show up. I am hauling various types of water.
