FYI last year in November a sudden snowfall did catch me off guard in Wyoming. They closed the I80 for 2 days and then later chains were required to be in your possession (not on wheels) . Wyoming is tricky in November.

You can get chains at the Iowa 80 truckstop on the way. Not cheap there, but easy to pull in and get it over with.

    dustin4841 Thanks this.

That’s what YouTube tutorials are for! The chains have instructions inside. But if you luck out like me you won’t even have to put them on, just have them with you.

    austinmike and dustin4841 Thank this.

9A4661BE-C00A-4CA3-8524-9FB6AA030FF6.jpeg Lots of places in California won’t let you sit there and nap at a chain location. Not to mention when you head east out of Sacramento or west from Reno there isn’t anywhere to just stop at.

    x1Heavy and dustin4841 Thank this.

I love the dispatch communicating tidbit line.

Dispatch does not take communications, what they DO is yell at you ONE WAY. lol. (In my time anyhow...) The only two questions is asked of you from Dispatch, Either what did you do now? Or what is madder with my truck?

    G13Tomcat and dustin4841 Thank this.

If I chained up in Ohio, they'd put me on the 5th floor somewhere close by~!
@HalpinUout ditto though. I used to run those roads 15 or so years ago...wouldn't do it then, won't now! Always had 'em on board for 'DOT' to 'know' I had 'em, however.

Maybe he can use 'socks' ??? << Heard of 'em, is all.

Need chains, need brains....hahaha! <<< sleep time for me also.
