    Well they aren't paying anything toward your social security , state or federal taxes..no workers comp,so hope you never get hurt on the job...cant draw unemployment insurance based on being paid on 1099....much harder to qualify for loans or finance a house

    I can see where some of that could cause some hesitation for some people. But I've been 1099 the last 4 years Driving and the most I've ever owed at the end of the year is 1500 bucks. It's not terribly hard to find a way to make all of your expenses count and sway the taxman in your favor. I have my own insurance so the workers comp part of it doesn't really concern me too much. I've been doing 1099 for so long now I don't think I'd ever go back to a W-2

    I'm from Chicago too, not sure on the accent thing lol. Just make sure you have enough money to get yourself back home if stuff hits the fan.
