Hey they are still looking to fill seats for one of the largest classes. I waiting for a trainer to be assigned to me. There are at least 20-plus students waiting.

Hey Jerry, I will see you on Monday, we finished up today and will be on the practice pad on Saturday. One of the largest classes finished up today. 20 or more waiting for trainers. Look me up when you get here, I'm in room 362

One of the instructors on the pad called me today with a question, and he told me that there were 78 waiting on an instructor currently.

Why so #### many? I am glad Prime is hiring and all, however, 78 students waiting begs to tell me that either A) Prime is expecting Drivers to leave B) Business is picking up which is a good thing and/or C) Most likely, a lot of drivers do not want to be instructors and/or trainers.

So with that being said, how come Drivers do not want to be Instructors? Trainers? I heard the extra pay is nice, OTOH maybe the risk isn't worth the reward.

I have no idea why so many, I've never heard of having so many available at one time. My only guess is that they brought a lot in one week, and there were not as many instructors available as they thought they were. From what I was told though, they are limiting the number of new students for the next few weeks while they work the backlog out. I told them I'd probably be taking a student on the 27th, and going home for the weekend of 9/10 - 9/13 while they are on my truck to go to a concert with my girlfriend.

I was told that Prime has suspended the CDL training classes until next month. I'm waiting on a date to go the SpringMo now. I hope they aren't flooding the driving pool. That might cut down on available loads for everyone.

Sorry Marty, I meant that I will be starting my CDL training her in AZ lol. So it will be awhile before I will be out on a orientation of any kind. Thanks for the updates though.

Haven't heard from JMWaller lately. Wonder how things are going for you?

What would be a good packing list for new guys headed to school? I assume that maybe clothes for about a week and washing machines available? Do we get to go home before heading out with the team trainer?

Pack light. Change of clothes for a week - extra underwear and socks, shower clogs, toilet kit, sleeping bag. Don't forget some warmer gear as well... you're heading into autumn, and it will be snowing in the high country next month. You can go home between CDL instruction and training, although many prefer to put that off until after your training is done - just to get it done.

    ka5pfb Thanks this.
