Well, the shower thing is a weird one. Especially since a co-driver shower wouldn't count against the trainer. One credit covers both the driver and the co-driver. Something more to the story there.

I appreciate all of the information, good and bad. I am going into this job with my eyes wide open. In my many years of imployment I have seen good times and bad. There's always going to be good things and bad things with just about any company.
Am I going to like running as a team, I have no idea. I've always been a team player but this will be very different than anything I have ever experienced. I hope I can sleep in a moving truck. I usually can't sleep on airplanes and in moving cars.
I think I will get a wealth of information from this experience. -
People on here hesitate to admit a lot of things, this being a public forum. However Driving for 10 hour, yes you can and will and longer. The stories about drivers leaving Salinas and hammering straight threw to Amarillo are true, although not as frequent as it used to be.
Anyhow, Good Luck. And remember the trainers is not there to make your life more of anything, Just learn what you can, bite your tongue a little and you'll be in your own truck soon to do what you feel is right them. Just save the debates for what really deserve your time.ka5pfb Thanks this. -

Trey, I'm sorry you feel I'm being hard on you. But when I made these same kind of responses to other people in the past, you thought my posts were so great you sent a PM to me and let me know how great they were. I'm just being honest. I never lied to you before, and I'm not lying to you now. Just because I'm telling you things you don't want to hear, doesn't mean I'm "up to something." What would I be up to? Trucking isn't for most people. I'm sorry.
There seems to be a ton of holes in your story, and a lot of things just don't make sense. Example, first you say your trainer kicked you off the first truck, then yesterday you said it was you who decided to leave, because he was always sleeping (and then you even contradict that later!). What are you hiding here?
Is it possible you had two terrible trainers? Sure. But you gave them a week. And you admit to saying things to them I would have never said to my trainer. Example: If my trainer yelled "STOP" at me, I would have immediately hit the brakes and explained what I was doing. I certainly wouldn't have kept going and yelled back at him. Especially in this economic climate, where they have my job in a vice. These are things that you are actually admitting to. Makes me wonder what else happened on those trucks, and what the trainers would say if they were here to defend themselves.
I work extremely hard and am very good at what I do. But I am also very loyal to Prime. I am proud of who I work for. So when somebody starts spouting negative information about my employer, I do take it a little personal. Someday, I hope you can feel the same loyalty to an employer. I don't know you, but I know Prime pretty darn well. I do realize though that they aren't a good fit for everyone, just because they work for me. They obviously weren't a good fit for you.
Not trying to get into a pissing match with you Trey. You posted in a public forum, and I'm critiquing that. It may not be what you want to hear, but the reaction you're receiving shouldn't come as much of a surprise if you've read my past posts.
I really am sorry things didn't work out. I know you must be going through a lot emotionally right now, and that sucks. I also do wish you luck, whatever happens. It's nothing personal man. It just didn't work out. I'm a bit worried for you, because I don't think you'll find things are much different at another company. I really hope I'm wrong on that.truckerdaddy24, ironpony and U2Exit Thank this. -

Hey ka5pfb, you thinking about running your ham rig once you gety your own truck? I'm kq6tp. I've already been trying to figure which antennaes may be best suited for an 18 wheeler
-
I have been thinking about putting a 2 meter rig in for sure. I have a mobile HF rig but the antenna may be an issue. If you get some ideas let me know. I assume that there maybe there is an antenna mount on the mirror that maybe suitable for the 2 meter antenna.
-
There are definitely mounts for the antennae. I am going to do 2 meters also, the same way. Something easily removable if I have to change rigs. I am leaning toward the hamsticks for 10, 15 and 20 meters. I have to get an updated 2-meter repeater handbook before I get going.
-
I'm not going to even think about radios until I get past the training and get my own truck. I have an iPhone and have echolink loaded on it. I plan on linking to my home repeater when I'm on break from time to time. I'm very pleased at how well that iPhone app works
Guess we basically changed the subject for a while. Still wondering where the OP is. Hopefully he's still running and hasn't had time to get on lately.
