Got a 2012 780, need to adjust the headlights, raise'em up a bit. Looks like there is only 1 adjuster on there, would that be the vertical or horizontal one? Any ideas?

OMG! These lights are the worst!

I just got a VLM640(?) trusting my memory there....

The headlights go out about 100 feet only.

Compared to the Cascadia that i had prior, I might as well not even turn these on at night!

I guess that is why you see Volvos with huge lights on top of the cab. Like they are running the BAJA race at night!

I bought new headlight covers cause the old ones were yellowed out and while it helped out a little, it is not enought.

I'm seriously thinking of adding some BAJA type lights. lol. or maybe some HID fog lits under the bumper.

If you add extra lights then make sure you use them like high beams and turn them OFF for oncoming traffic just came ver a mountain pass with aa whole bunch of dummies with highbeams, fog lights or driving lights pointed ,up or four wheelers with a heavy load and their headlights pointing in the treetops
If your driving lights shine past your headlights then you should be dimming them for oncoming traffic

I drive at night a lot on plenty of backroads. I'm very careful to not outrun my lights. Its just that the Volvo lights suck. I also see a lot of Volvos with headlights on and fogs on while running down major interstate where its not needed.

they can only be adjusted up and down no side to side

10 half turns on that adjuster will get them up where they need to

I found the adjuster, but it is like a torque screwdriver tip. I have never seen the female version of torque bits. I wonder if it is a special tool that volvo has?

The truck is going back to the dealer for an oil leak repair, so I will have them adjust them at that time.

mine are a 4mm socket but yes they make inverted torx sockets... hopefully the dealer will adjust them up where they need to be and not just to spec's
