Then why the big "Rah Rah" for Stidham? This "Larry" guy never once addressed the issues presented by the OP, but goes on and on about the "Goodyear blimp in 1991", "Company of the Year", who knows when, etc.

He can be a cheerleader all he want's, and maybe it is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but what does he say about the OP's concerns? Nothing about new ownership, or concerns with equipment.

Well, the original post was from 2016, and his reply was yesterday......might have been running pretty low on his 'to do' list.
But, he sounded genuine and friendly and was willing to reply. So, that says a lot to me.
I'd say the dude retired and was dicking off on the computer and came across the remark. No harm, no foul.

I got the impression that Larry was a hard working driver with a dream of owning a successful trucking company. He apparently built one from the ground up and succeeded. He was able to pursue some philanthropic goals later on due in part to the success and culture of his employees whom he seemed quite satisfied with.
Many years later an unsatisfied employee posted some information about why he felt the company was improperly managed, partly due to it being sold, which I doubt could be attributed to the original owners deeds.
Kind of a typical, but sad tale of the birth, infancy, and mature life of a once great company that could be losing sight of the owners original business philosophies.

His wife/marriage is 66years so he's probably at least 86 years old. Gotta' give him some respect. Kinda' sounds like co went downhill a bit after he sold it.

Exactly right. He was old school and strict but he wouldn't cheat you and he didn't lie. It's too bad there aren't more like him.

I would much rather work for a hardened, strict, and honest person, than a wishy-washy, flaky, flim-flam man.

When I worked loading sheetrock in Richmond, Ca, their trucks were in there often. But wasn't there a brother or cousin that ran trucks too? I seem to remember Richard Stidham trucks coming in there too. Or maybe my old memory is on the blink

Then why doesn't he address that? It's all about what happened 35 years ago, or how the family was all birthed in the area, etc.
